About the Role:
Join Red Shed's dynamic team as a Rowing Coach and make a significant impact on our community's rowing future. Collaborating closely with our other full-time and casual rowing coaches you'll run sessions for all ages, abilities and backgrounds. Your passion and commitment will drive Red Shed's rowing initiatives to new heights, fostering excellence and inclusivity.
In this role, you'll ensure safe and enjoyable rowing sessions year-round, embodying our vision of 'Rowing for All.' With a focus on community engagement and program success, the ideal candidate will embody our values, leaving a lasting positive imprint on our community.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Coach rowers of various levels and groups including Learn-To-Row, Juniors, Adults, Para and Performance rowers as assigned by the Head Rowing Coach.
- Deliver fun rowing programs that cater to all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.
- Assist in the development and implementation of training plans as directed by the leadership team.
- Participate in induction sessions, professional development opportunities, coach meetings, and safety training activities as required.
- Attend all training sessions, camps, and events as directed by the team.
- Undertake any other rowing-related duties as assigned.
- Promote the Red Shed programs positively within the community.
- Collaborate closely with the team to ensure the success of all rowing programs.
- Nurture a culture of excellence, resilience, and inclusivity among participants.
- Adhere to and implement Red Shed's Policies and Procedures.
- Take proactive measures to ensure the safety of all participants, including identifying and reporting risks.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience in rowing coaching at various levels.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse groups of individuals.
- Passion for community engagement and the transformative power of rowing.
- Knowledge of adaptive rowing practices is desirable.
- Current Working with Vulnerable People Check (essential).
- Valid First Aid & CPR Accreditation.
- Desired - Rowing Australia Level 1, 2, or 3 Coach Accreditation.
- Current Boat Licence (any state or territory).

Head Rowing Coach - Launceston Grammar
We are seeking a passionate and committed Head Rowing Coach to work closely with our coaches and students to develop and implement the Grammar Rowing Technical Model.
About us
At Launceston Grammar we have a proud tradition as one of Australia’s oldest rowing schools having first launched on the Kanamaluka (River Tamar) in 1887, with the support of the Tamar Rowing Club. We maintain a strong and vibrant program with over 100 students, 20 coaches and a supportive Parent Support Group. Students row across Singles, Doubles/Pairs, Quads/Fours and Eights. We have a strong reputation in Quad racing for both boys and girls at the annual Australian Rowing Championships. Our Head of Rowing has developed a comprehensive and well-rounded program with a focus on rower wellbeing.
About the role
As Head Rowing Coach you will:
- Develop a safe training and competition experience for students from Grades 7 to 12.
- Engage and encourage students to achieve their personal goals and understand how they contribute to the broader success of the Rowing Program.
- Develop coach performance and expertise through a ‘Coach the Coaches’ program both on and off water.
- Develop in students an appreciation and understanding of the Grammar Technical Model and Skill Development expectations for juniors and seniors, with a clear progression from U13 through to Open Crews.
- Together with the Head of Rowing, oversee crew selection and support coaches through communicating these decisions as they work with their crews.
- Construct and facilitate an overall season training program and schedule, considering periodised and integrated training, incorporating recovery interventions.
- Attend rowing training, regattas and rowing camps as required.
What you will have
- Passion, enthusiasm and willingness to uphold the values and ethos of the school.
- A high level of self-awareness and ability to maintain positive relationships.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience in rowing coaching and leading a team of coaches (preferred).
- Level 1 Rowing coaching qualification.
- Knowledge and understanding of rowing methodologies and rowing equipment.
- A National Police Check and current Drivers Licence.
- First aid, CPR and Working with Vulnerable People certifications.
- A willingness to undertake further professional learning to support the safety and wellbeing of students and coaches.
- Flexibility in working hours and days across the 2025/2026 rowing season.

Coaching Opportunities at Buckingham Rowing Club – 2025/26 Season
Buckingham Rowing Club is seeking coaches for the upcoming 2025/26 season, commencing with winter training in June/July 2025 (flexible).
Buckingham Rowing Club has always been one of the premier rowing clubs of Tasmania with a tradition of success nationally and internationally. As well as catering for the elite athlete, Bucks has always maintained a strong link with the wider community. This is evident in our regular Learn-to-Row programs targeting more senior members of the community promoting healthy outdoor activity. Junior rowing has also played a major part in the success of the club.
With an honorarium provided, these positions offer the chance to work with an engaging club community and contribute to the growth and success of our squads. The squad structure is flexible and will be determined based on the experience and preferences of successful applicants.
The successful applicant will be an individual who has a strong knowledge of current rowing training and technique, proven success in training teams, demonstrated leadership abilities, and an ability to recruit athletes and coordinate training groups.
Essential Requirements
- Level 2 Coaching Accreditation or willingness to obtain
- Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check
