Educational Resources & Opportunities for Our Rowing Community

 

Rowing Tasmania is pleased to share a range of educational workshops and resources designed to support volunteers, coaches, and everyone working across our sport. Whether you're involved in coaching, officiating, volunteer coordination, or working with children and young people in a rowing environment, these opportunities offer valuable training,  and practical resources to help you grow in your rol.

In-person workshops (Statewide)

We are hosting two in-person workshops across Tasmania on 28, 29 October, and 3 November 2026.


During these two‑hour in‑person workshops, you’ll take part in practical activities that build skills and confidence to assess, interview, analyse and
es reach evidence‑based conclusions.

  • Child and Youth Safe Standards
    During these two-hour in‑person workshops, you’ll design a reporting workflow, build a child safe recruitment pack and identify your biggest risks. You’ll leave with clear actions ready to use in
    your organisation.

Standards 7 and 8 webinars

We are hosting interactive webinars on 26 August 2026 and 22 September 2026. 
  • Standard 7: Staff and volunteers are equipped with the knowledge, skills and awareness to keep children and young people safe through ongoing education and training
  • Standard 8: Physical and online environments promote safety and wellbeing while minimising the opportunity for children and young people to be harmed.

These sessions will walk through fictional case studies to give practical tips on implementing Standards 7 and 8.

New Reportable Conduct Scheme resources


Our Reportable Conduct Scheme resources provide an introduction to the Reportable Conduct Scheme. They are designed to build skills and confidence in nine key areas, including Understanding the Reportable Conduct SchemeSupporting children and young people to raise concerns and Weighing evidence and determining outcomes.

Let's Talk Youth Safe Volunteering webinar


We are joining Volunteering Tasmania for a free online webinar on Tuesday, 29 September 2026 at 12:00pm - 1:30pm to discuss:
  • An overview of the National Standards for Volunteer Involvement
  • An overview of the Tasmanian Child and Youth Safe Standards and the Universal Principle for Aboriginal Cultural Safety
  • Practical steps to align these frameworks so your volunteer organisation is supported to create safe environments for children and young people
  • A discussion about the available support and resources.
