Supporting Women Who Lead from the Water's Edge
Rowing Tasmania is encouraging clubs, schools, and community networks across the state to spread the word about an exciting opportunity for women in coaching. Womensport & Recreation Tasmania has opened applications for its Emerging Women in Coaching Scholarships — a new program designed to strengthen the pipeline of women coaches across Tasmania by reducing the barriers that so often hold talented coaches back.
What the scholarship offers:
Each recipient receives $1,000 in scholarship support, access to mentoring and professional development, and the opportunity to connect with a wider network of women in sport through Womensport & Recreation Tasmania.
Thanks to the support of Lutruwita the Label, one dedicated Aboriginal Coach Scholarship is also on offer this round, creating stronger and more inclusive pathways for Tasmanian Aboriginal women in coaching.
Who is this for?
The scholarship is open to women aged 18 and over who are currently coaching — or have coached within the past 24 months — at community or sub-elite level in Tasmania. If you know someone in our rowing community who fits that description, please encourage them to apply.
Our clubs are full of incredible women who give so much to this sport. This is a chance for them to be recognised, supported, and connected.
Applications close 31 May 2026.
