NEW TOWN BAY Junior Quads Regatta

WHEN:SATURDAY 7^TH NOVEMBER

START: 9.00am (1^st race)

END: 1.00pm (approx. last race)

VENUE: New Town Bay Pontoons (NTBRC, Marina Esplanade)

On Saturday 7^th November, we will conduct the New Town Bay Junior Quads Regatta. The event began in 2020 with a small inter-club event amongst the Friends School, which has now grown into a large Southern Schools Junior Regatta. Thankyou to the support from each of the Southern Schools who make this regatta possible each year. 

Information for the EVENT DAY:

• ROWING BOATS – These are supplied by Friends, St Virgils & St Mary’s
• BRIEFING – 8.30am at front of NTBRC Pontoons (Marshalling area)
• FIRST RACE - 9.00am,
• LAST RACE - 1.00pm (approx.)
• TENTS – can be set up on the lawn area either directly near pontoons OR along foreshore grounds at the point of New Town Bay area.
• MARSHALLING AREA - All rowers MUST report to the pontoon marshal 20min before the start of their race - This is located at the pontoons.
• Rowers will do a quick boat changeover, with no time to make adjustments at pontoon (eg foot stretchers to be done on the water)
• Rowers will wait to be called onto the pontoon (eg. no access to the pontoon until such time)
• RACING RESTARTS - Officials will not be in a position to do a re-start if a collision occurs, nor will they be able to provide another race if a crew misses the start of their race.
• Rowers are asked to move quickly to the start to ensure they stay in the rotation with their allocated event boats.
• KIOSK/COFFEE – Both hot food and cold food options are available at the event along with tea/coffee facilities
