NOTICE TO MARINERS M279-23 THE GORGE LAUNCESTON
Published Tue 18 Jul 2023
NOTICE TO MARINERS
M279-23 South Esk River - Navigation Warning
Mariners are advised that a section of a retaining wall at a property on South Esk Road has partially failed, and could continue to fail, which may present a dangerous rock fall hazard to mariners in the South Esk River between Kings Bridge and the first set of rapids within the Gorge.
Mariners are advised that vessels, kayaks and rowing shells transiting through this section of the South Esk River should remain close to the southern shore, not pass closer than 30 metres to the northern shore and not linger in the area directly below the damaged retaining wall.
