Hello and welcome to the latest from WSRT

New Research - Why do so many girls step away from sport in their teenage years?

A new and important Tasmanian research project, exploring the experiences of young women who stopped playing organised team ball sport as teenagers, is now open.

Staying in the Game Researchers are inviting young women aged 16 - 24 to share their experiences, including the health, social and sporting factors that may have influenced their decision to stop playing.

If this sound like you, your sport, or someone you know, jump online and take part in the research survey and share.

Your insights could help sporting organisations better understand the barriers girls face and create environments that help more girls stay in the game.

Staying in the Game is led by researchers Chrissy Tadros and Karen Wills and is endorsed by Womensport & Recreation Tasmania.

Sporting organisations and clubs can help us reach more young women by sharing our Facebook post on your page or Stories. The more voices we hear, the stronger the research will be.  CLICK HERE to share
