Changes for Years 7-9 at School Regattas

For the past three seasons, as a COVID measure, racing for the Years 7-9 boys and girls at School Regattas has been confined to one day of the two-day regatta. Following a submission from several schools, the Rowing Tasmania Board has agreed to the request for the Years 7-9 events to be held over the two days of the School Regattas. Schools Regatta 1 is at Lake Barrington International Rowing Course on 25-26 November.

Director of Rowing- The Hutchins School

The role The School seeks to appoint a highly motivated Director of Rowing to join our team in Sandy Bay. The Director of Rowing manages all aspects of the Hutchins Rowing program, working closely with the Director of Sport and Teacher-in-Charge of Rowing to ensure the program’s success. The role is responsible for ensuring that Hutchin’s students from Years 6-12 have access to, and can safely participate in, the program and ultimately represent Hutchins in school, State and national events.

St Virgils College – Hobart Rowing Coaches

St Virgils College – Hobart Rowing Coaches The College is seeking expressions of interest from experienced and motivated volunteer rowing coaches who are keen to join the St Virgil’s College Rowing Program for the 2023/24 season. The successful candidates will be willing to work in a team environment, with other like-minded coaches to deliver coaching support for the boys from novice to senior rowers.

ISM4x gold first for State

A gold medal row by Tasmania’s ISM4x crew capped off a string of successes for Tasmanians competing at the 2023 Australian Masters Rowing Championships at SIRC, Penrith, from June 1-4. The ISM4x row by Tom Wilcox (LRC), Pat Bird (NERC), Michael Wilson (URC) and Mark Bonham (TRC) was the first time Tasmania has won an Interstate Masters race.

Head Rowing Coach/Administrator Sandy Bay Rowing Club

Coaching & Instruction (Sport & Recreation) Part time We are seeking an enthusiastic motivated and experienced person to own the position of head coach and administrator. The Sandy Bay Rowing Club is a Hobart city based club with seventy five members with a strong growth path. Vale Eric Waller- a friend of Rowing Tasmania

Rowing Tasmania and our members would like to acknowledged with sadness, the passing of Eric Waller. Eric has spent many hours with our volunteers and BRO's in Tasmania helping to prepare for Nationals and has been a great friend to all at Rowing Tasmania both on and off the water, he will be sadly missed.
